Fukagawa Glass Crafts was founded in 1906 (Meiji 39) in Fukagawa, Koto-ku, Tokyo. In 2003, it moved its workshop to Otaru, Hokkaido, famous as a glass town, and now has established an integrated system from glass material production, design, to processing utilizing the vast land and new facilities. Many cut glass studios receive glass material supplies, and Edo cut glass craftsmen also trust its quality.
【Why does it produce a nice sound?】
The biggest secret to this glass producing a beautiful sound is the "unevenness" inside the glass.
By adding unevenness, the ice is more likely to hit the sides when mixed. Depending on where it hits, various heights of sound resonate.
The glass has to be molded precisely while it is drawn out at 1200°C and cooled for several tens of seconds, a constant battle against time. We actually experimented with the best shape while putting ice in and checking the sound.

It is recommended to enjoy the sound when the ice has melted slightly.
