La scheda in sé è difettosa. La diagnosi per la quale era stata rimossa è la bruciatura del famigerato chip Texas Instruments TSB41AB3, responsabile dell'interfaccia PC IEEE 1394a (‘Firewire) che, avendo un range di temperatura operativa ristretto (o° - 70°) si guastava sistematicamente (le immagini mostrano chiari segni di ‘cottura').

La vendita comprende quindi un chip Texas nuovo di zecca (ilTSB41AB3IEP) progettato per la sostituzione, senza alcuna modifica, di quello preesistente e con un range di temperatura più ampio. La riparazione può essere fatta da un qualsiasi laboratorio minimamente attrezzato, in ogni caso la vendita scheda + chip sostitutivo viene qui proposta come ‘parte di ricambio onon funzionante'. Su richiesta posso fornire i datasheet dei due integrati.

The board itself is defective. The diagnosis that led to its removal was the failure of the notorious Texas Instruments TSB41AB3 chip,responsible for the IEEE 1394a (FireWire) PC interface. This chip, with a narrow operating temperature range (0° - 70°C), systematically failed, as evidenced by visible signs of overheating.

The sale includes a brand-new replacement chip(TSB41AB3IEP), designed to directly replace the original without any modifications and featuring a broader operating temperature range. The repair can be performed by any minimally equipped laboratory. In any case, the mainboard and the replacement chip are offered here as "spare parts or non-functional components." On request I can provide the two chps datasheets.
